Hook Security, a psychological security awareness training company, released a new set of features to enhance their “PsySec” Security Awareness Training experience.
At the end of each monthly phishing testing period, all email users will now receive an email notification with their test result, pass or fail, with an opportunity to watch that month's Point of Infraction (POI) training video.
“Uncertainty doesn’t contribute to a positive security culture,” says Zach Eikenberry, CEO and Cofounder of Hook Security. “We think it's important that users receive some positive feedback whether they passed or failed the phishing test. We’ve also found that since we keep our videos quick and funny, when users pass the test, several of them still want to see that training video for the month.”
This enhancement implements two of the pillars of Hook Security’s PsySec training approach. First, offering that month’s entertaining training material to everyone as a learning opportunity provides a constant feedback loop to all email users. Second, this feedback loop makes training a voluntary action for each email user, allowing them to choose to view the POI training video. This becomes a positive, rewarding experience whether they passed or failed the phishing test.
“This is our ultimate goal.” says Zach, “We are creating awareness training that users actually want and enjoy.”
Hook Security’s PsySec approach results in effective training of the mind of each email user over time to recognize threats in phishing emails and ultimately brings about a change in the security culture of the organization.
